The Office of External Affairs, under the Office of the University President, is responsible for international linkages (visiting scholars, visiting graduate researchers, internship and student exchange programs, and educational partnerships and training programs), international students, national/regional institutional and academic linkages (professional associations, business-industry, government and non-government organizations), community extension service, alumni affairs, linkage management information system, the University website, and the Public Information/Press Relations Office.
International Linkages
- Solicits international linkages for faculty exchanges, grants and fellowships.
- Facilitates the drafting of memoranda of agreement as well as proposals for joint institutional projects together with the appropriate college or department.
- Monitors and evaluates on-going international linkages.
International Students
- Helps advertise through the University website the University’s academic programs for international students.
- Develops a comprehensive program for the orientation, enrolment and immigration of international students.
- Prepares an appropriate program for the integration of international students into the academic and social life of the University.
National/Regional Institutional and Academic Linkages
- Serves as a channel of communication and monitors national and regional institutional linkages;
- Promotes the formation of national and regional academic linkages (associations, business and industry, non-government and government organizations) as well as their monitoring and periodic evaluation.
Community Extension Service
- Oversees the performance of the Office of Community Extension Service;
- Links with foreign organizations/associations interested in the community extension service program of the University.
Alumni Affairs
- Oversees the performance of the Office of Alumni Affairs.
Management Information System and University Website
- Manages the linkages management information system and the University Website.
Others
- Represents the University in the community upon the instruction of the President.
- Serves as the Public Information/Press Relations Office of the University;
- Prepares quarterly reports for the President and appropriate reports for distribution across the University.
